I’m excited to announce that I am a new fashion contributor for NotableTV.com! My first article was published yesterday:
Notable Designers: Jules Power Goes Canadian Classic for Fall/Winter
Upon graduating from Ryerson’s School of Fashion, Jules Power spent a decade designing for some of Canada’s well known retailers including Danier, Roots, and Joe Fresh Style. Jules Power lives in Toronto where she works on her own womenswear and jewellery collection.
I first heard of Jules while shopping at Chasse Gardee this winter – they carry her items. I immediately noted the name and was glad to find out that I’d have a chance to preview her fall 2010 collection at the LG Fashion Show in March. At the show, I fell for those nostalgic floral prints and cozy wool dresses. It was no surprise that her collection created the most buzz on my LGFW coverage post. Soon after, I asked Jules if I could wear one of her runway looks for a creative photoshoot with bn-photography. She let me wear my favourite one!
Jules says that the type of woman who wears her collection loves clothes and enjoys life! “My Fall 2010 Collection was inspired by Canadian Lifestyle. It is a combination of classic, earthy colours like Camel, Red, Grey and Brown with relaxed, modern silhouettes. I love texture and print and I used natural, comfortable and cozy fabrics. The pieces are designed for a true Canadian winter: cashmere blazers and wool tunics for work and cotton sweats for lounging.”
Check out Jules Power’s official website to preview the rest of the Fall 2010 collection.
