Giveaway – Win a $250 Persona bracelet

UPDATE: Wednesday, December 1st (December already!?)

Before announcing the contest winner, I would like to send out a big THANK YOU to all of you for submitting your ideas! You rock! I’ve read them all carefully and wanted to give you feedback on the most popular requests:

Street Style – I hear ya, you want more :) And so do I.I enjoy this aspect of Shopsterium the most. I’m in love with the whole process: from hunting to photo editing, sharing, and reading your comments. I try my best to bring as much street style as possible, and will continue to do so in the future. As for the details on their outfits… will try to add those.

Celebrity Style Steal – These are fun to do, and the web traffic stats tell me you like them the most. However, these style steals require a lot of time and effort to pull off. Most of the time I’m missing a certain piece to complete the look, so I end up purchasing it (which, after a while, was not feasible any more). So I’ll be bringing you more of these as I find sponsors that can contribute towards my “celebrity closet”. If you are one or know one, let me know!

Local stores/boutiques/events – I stopped blogging about these as they did not attract much traffic, and did not generate enough buzz — or at least not as much as my other segments.

Makeovers – Oh I would love to see this as a new feature on Shopsterium, but given the (very limited) amount of free time I have after school/work, I just don’t see when I’d manage to do them. A makeover would require at least a few hours, and then some more for editing. If I manage to turn this blog into a full time job, this will be the first change, I promise :)

Video – You’ll never see me upload a video of myself. Photos I’m fine with, video – not my comfort zone. I’m quite shy actually. :)

Coupons – Easy! Will try my best to bring you more coupons in the future!

Makeup & beauty tips, menswear – Ok these are two different categories, but I shy away from each for the same reason – I’m not comfortable giving advice on either. I will look into getting in touch with a few experts that could contribute as guest bloggers. If you’re interested, let me know!

Now let’s get to the fun part. I’ve used my magic random number generator again, and the winner is…. Tania! Congrats!

ORIGINAL BLOG POST:

You’ve seen me wear my Persona bracelet numerous times on this blog; it’s a perfect match for my gold watch. Good news is that Persona has agreed to give away this exact same bracelet, which retails for $250 at their Yorkdale Mall store, to one lucky Shopsterium reader!

As you know, last Friday was Shopsterium‘s 1st year anniversary. It’s been a wonderful year and I’m proud of all of the encouragement and recognition this blog has received. I am always looking for new ways to improve Shopsterium, and hence I’m asking for your help today. Submit your suggestions below to enter the contest. Your ideas can be about anything: content, layout, frequency of publishing…

I’m looking forward to reading these! The contest will be open until Wednesday night. Good luck!

I love your street style posts, never miss a single one, and think you should do more of those!

maybe an uploading option like a take on lookbook for your readers.
so we can gather creative inspiration from everyone. like a little community of toronto love.

Like Sonia, I’d love to see more street style posts. It’s inspiring to see how everyday people adopt trends and make them their own. It would be cool to see more coupons, too.

What about doing a monthly segment featuring a new local designer?

hmmmm I like the lay out of the blog as it is, it’s very simple and easy to browse.
daily posts are enough :) but the are some content posts that I really miss :(

While I really like street style…I like your “celebrity steal” and “my outfit” posts more…also before when you did Street style posts you used to ask the person what they were wearing and I thought that was very nice! Seeing an outfit and knowing where it was purchased was better. That is probably why I like the two other catergories more – due to the fact I know where your outfit is from :)

I also like your “guest” posts which you haven’t had in a really long timeeeee, like that time your friend did the make-up tutorial for your blog, and the person who did the lululemon review….those are very fun to see as well, but you steered away from them for some reason.

I remember you had a little schedule before for each day (monday- street style, Tuesday – Celebrity Steal) it gave your blog this charm, now I mostly see Street Style on your blog, there are so many blogs like that!!! you need to stick to your original plan as it was very original :))

p.s. regardless of all my comments I still very much enjoy reading your blog daily

    ok..I think I said enough

I would love to see you give someone a makeover!! (pick me, I’m hopeless)

Maybe do a post on holiday pieces and outfits for parties and what not! I’ve been trying to find the perfect holiday dress but they’re all the same. And everyone wears black.

Also, I want some shoes that are like uggs but not uggs so I need some help with that!

Love to see some makeup/hair tips!

I would say add the same features you do for women only for men. There aren’t that many men’s fashion blogs and that it would make you unique compared to others. I would also think that doing makeovers would be a neat element to add. Or what about best kept secrets so you share say where to find vintage couture cheap.

I really love your street style postings. I’d like to see more of those. :)

And maybe you can post about how people (celebrities?) are pulling off similar/same items
in totally different ways. You know, maybe this person wears this pink bag with black dress whereas another person pulls it off with red heels, etc.

    Stunning bracelets!
I’d love to see more spotlights on local shops/boutiques. We’re all familiar with large stores and brands, but there are so many hidden treasures and wonderful people who run independent shops!

Let’s see some ‘personal time’ giveaways: Mani/Pedi vouchers, Massages, etc. These could also fall under the makeover umbrella.

I love your street style photos but often I want details of the outfits so I know where to pick up similar pieces.

Some one else mentioned this above, but I would love to see some reviews and information about Toronto stores that are a little more off the beaten track. I’ve lived here a few years but I still feel like there are so many unique things about the city to discover!

The layout of your blog is great. I like how its not too busy and it makes reading your posts an enjoyable experience. However, I would love to hear about your recommendations about other blogs that I could read! Fashion blogs are my weaknesses so the more, the merrier!

I’d love to see you show readers how to get an expensive look/outfit on the cheap. I’d like to see a comparison between a splurge outfit and a budget conscious one.

Also, I’d love to see an entry on holiday season casual (a family brunch) and formal looks (for holiday parties). Maybe you could provide readers with suggestions of where to find the best holiday outfits.

  28. Posted November 30, 2010 at 1:42 pm | Permalink

How about a vlog documenting a shopping trip, showing what you paired with what? How to make the trends work for all body types, or a piece on Heeling hunger – Have you seen it? @cocktaildeeva’s latest venture – buying shoes and HEELing Hunger.

    PS. LOVE that bracelet

I would like to see a funky layout that reflects your blog with tons of punchy colours -and possibly create a logo (maybe a lady maybe a giant “S” crest .. paper dolls with various outfits, looks, accessories, etc… (BAM, I don’t know where that came out of)

  30. Posted November 30, 2010 at 1:48 pm | Permalink

    Hey Dejana,

Like most of your other readers, I enjoy your street style posts, it’s like online poeple watching.
I also enjoy the shopping posts you featured back when your blog first started, such as deals you found at Winners or at consignment shops. Everyone loves a bargain, so maybe a regular post about where to shop for a great deal would be a popular idea.

    Answering your tweet:
Yes I love streetstyle photos (especially because there are not that many streetstyle blogs about toronto). But I also love that you have a balance of everything: you are not just focused on one thing and that’s what makes this blog soooo interesting.
I personally also love when you review stores/salons and stuff like that.

In terms of design, your blog is very nice & easy to read. I wouldn’t change a single thing.
